Case Background

On October 28, 2019, Plaintiff Alba Rivera visited property located at 19146 Stare Street, Northridge, California. At that time, Defendants Stephen Ruda, Susan Ruda, and Zepur Karamanoukian owned, operated, or managed the premises. Rivera alleged the Defendants bore responsibility for maintaining the property in a safe condition.

Cause

According to the complaint, Defendants failed to properly manage, maintain, inspect, and repair the premises. Rivera asserted they negligently supervised the property and ignored hazardous conditions. On the day of the incident, a tree on the premises collapsed and struck Rivera’s vehicle. She alleged this event resulted from Defendants’ negligence in their care and oversight of the property.

Injury

Rivera suffered severe personal injuries when the tree collapsed onto her car. The force of the impact caused her significant physical harm. She required medical treatment and reported enduring pain
