Case Background

On February 02, 2022, police officer Bryan Castellanos and his wife, Leila Castellanos filed an invasion of privacy and assault lawsuit after the couple received inappropriate texts from Bryan's friend and superior officer, Lt. Cause

Between June 2017 and May 2020, Bryan Castellanos, a Dunwoody police officer in his 20s, received numerous sexually explicit messages from his friend and supervisor, Lt. Fidel Espinoza. Espinoza also allegedly sent inappropriate messages to Bryan’s wife, Leila Castellanos. The couple took legal action, filing a lawsuit against Espinoza and several entities. These included the Dunwoody Police Department, the City of Dunwoody, the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners, and the Dunwoody Police Foundation. Their claims brought attention to the alleged misconduct and raised concerns about workplace behavior and accountability within the department.
